An intimate slow food gathering set within the avocado groves.
The first of The Sunbird Tables series celebrates Tanzania’s green gold, the avocado, in a setting of quiet abundance and grounded beauty. Expect a soft afternoon of story, flavor, and community, co-created with our friends at Backyard Soirée.
At the heart of the grove, something beautiful waits to be found. A place for live cooking, gentle music, and unhurried conversation carried by the scent of earth and fruit.
The Flow
✺ 3:30 PM | Arrival and Welcome
Guests are greeted at the farm gate with an avocado gin sour or avocado lemonade, then guided on a short walk through the trees toward the grove.
✺ 4:00 PM | Farm Walk and Avocado Story
A guided stroll through the groves with the host. How the trees are grown, harvested, and shared. Simple and observant.
✺ 5:00 PM | Settle and Photo Time
A moment to pause, explore, and take in the landscape before evening light begins to turn gold.
✺ 5:30 PM | Live Acoustic Set
A soft and intimate performance by Salum Matata, whose soulful blend of Swahili folk and blues creates a soundscape that moves easily with the land. Guests unwind on rugs and cushions as music and nature weave together.
✺ 6:00 PM | Picnic Dinner
Low tables on the grass. A live cooked Egyptian inspired meal prepared by Chef Ahmed, formerly of the Marriott Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh. Each course tells a quiet story through spice, freshness, and warmth.
✺ 7:15 PM | A Sweet Bite and Unhurried Goodbyes
A gentle close to the evening with dessert and slow conversation as twilight settles in.
Dress Code
Picnic elegance with sensible flats, light layers for evening chill, and comfort in mind. Bug spray provided.
A gathering for those who move gently, eat slowly, and find joy in shared stillness.
